If you host JTL-Shop yourself, please read the following update instructions: <span style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\"><a style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\" href=\"https:\/\/guide.jtl-software.com\/en\/jtl-shop\/jtl-shop-fee-based-editions\/updating-jtl-shop\/\">Updating JTL-Shop<\/a><\/span>.\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\t<p>If you use JTL-Shop hosting, you must not update JTL-Shop yourself. Instead, follow the steps below to initiate updates.<\/p>\n<div class=\"media-object media-object-border d-flex align-items-top\">\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t<span class=\"mt-1 mr-3 flex-shrink-0 far fa-exclamation-circle fa-2x columnsize-fa-2x text-shop\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"media-content border-shop\">\n\t\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\"><strong>Attention:<\/strong><\/span> Before requesting the update, make sure that you have a template that is also compatible with the new version of JTL-Shop. Please also check whether your plugins are compatible with the new version. Otherwise, your shop may become unreachable. If you have made changes outside your template, please save them, because the files can be overwritten during the update. You can request a free test shop and test the necessary individual adjustments there first. Changing the main version, e.g. JTL-Shop version 4.X to version 5.X, also requires a version update.<\/p>\n\t<p>JTL-Shop will be updated to the latest available version at your request. Log in to the Customer Centre and open your <span class=\"highlight\">Hosting overview <\/span>using the following link: <a href=\"https:\/\/kundencenter.jtl-software.de\/hosting\">Go to hosting overview<\/a>. Finally, click on <span class=\"highlight\">Update vormerken<\/span> (Request update) for your shop domain. The update will then be carried out as soon as possible on the next possible date on weekdays between 9 AM and 5 PM. You will be notified by email as soon as your shop has been updated. Log in to the Customer Centre and open your <span class=\"highlight\">Hosting overview <\/span>using the following link: <a href=\"https:\/\/kundencenter.jtl-software.de\/hosting\">Go to hosting overview<\/a>. Finally, click <span class=\"highlight\">Auf X.X.X updaten<\/span> (Update to X.X.X) for your shop domain. The update is usually carried out automatically within a few minutes. You will be notified by email as soon as your shop has been updated. Please note that the build update process is automated and thus unmonitored. Therefore, we highly recommend using build updates only during JTL business hours, as it is not possible to support update errors outside of these hours.<\/p>\n<div class=\"media-object media-object-border d-flex align-items-center\">\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t<span class=\"mt-1 mr-3 flex-shrink-0 far fa-info-circle fa-2x columnsize-fa-2x text-shop\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"media-content border-shop\">\n\t\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\"><strong>Please note:<\/strong><\/span> Refer to the notes on the necessary rework during a build update: <span style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\"><a style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\" href=\"https:\/\/guide.jtl-software.com\/en\/jtl-shop\/jtl-shop-fee-based-editions\/updating-jtl-shop\/#schritt-5-nacharbeiten\">Further steps after the update of JTL-Shop<\/a><\/span>.\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"d-flex align-items-center hl-wawi\" id=\"preparations-for-an-upgrade-to-jtl-shop-5\">Preparations for an upgrade to JTL-Shop 5 <span id='anchor-preparations-for-an-upgrade-to-jtl-shop-5' data-href='#preparations-for-an-upgrade-to-jtl-shop-5' class='far fa-link' data-anchor><\/span><\/h3>\t<p>Before upgrading, you need to make some preparations to ensure a smooth process.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"list-reset step mb-5 list-shop normal-step\">\n\t<li >\n\t<span class=\"highlight\">Just before the upgrade, no more synchronisations with JTL-Wawi may be carried out.<\/span> Please consider this when scheduling the upgrade. If you use JTL-Worker, you have the following options:<\/li><\/ol><ul class=\"list-reset ml-3 list-icons list-custom-square list-shop\">\n\t<li >\n\t\t\t<span class=\"list-icon fas fa-square\"><\/span>\t\tExit JTL-Worker and only restart it after the upgrade has been successfully completed.\t<\/li><li >\n\t\t\t<span class=\"list-icon fas fa-square\"><\/span>\t\tExit JTL-Worker. Then, in the background service settings of JTL-Worker, specify that no online shop synchronisation should be carried out. Then restart JTL-Worker to continue synchronisations with other platforms.\t<\/li><li >\n\t\t\t<span class=\"list-icon fas fa-square\"><\/span>\t\tBlock the affected JTL-Shop for the synchronisation in the respective online shop connection settings.\t<\/li><\/ul><ol start=\"2\" class=\"list-reset step mb-5 list-shop normal-step\">\n\t<li >\n\tIf you use the object cache, deactivate it completely under <span class=\"highlight\"> System &gt; Wartung &gt; Cache<\/span> (System &gt; Maintenance &gt; Cache).<\/li><li class=\"media-single-line\">\n\tCheck your plug-ins:<\/li><\/ol><ul class=\"list-reset ml-3 list-icons list-custom-square list-shop\">\n\t<li >\n\t\t\t<span class=\"list-icon fas fa-square\"><\/span>\t\t<strong>Uninstall<\/strong> all plug-ins (active and inactive) of which you know that you will no longer use them after the upgrade or are not using anymore now. For these plug-ins, also remove the files of the web space from the directory \/includes\/plugins, as in some cases even uninstalled plug-ins can cause problems after updates.\t<\/li><li >\n\t\t\t<span class=\"list-icon fas fa-square\"><\/span>\t\t<strong>Deactivate<\/span> all plug-ins that you would like to continue using after the upgrade <span class=\"highlight\">shortly before the upgrade<\/strong>.\t<\/li><\/ul><div class=\"media-object media-object-border d-flex align-items-center\">\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t<span class=\"mt-1 mr-3 flex-shrink-0 far fa-info-circle fa-2x columnsize-fa-2x text-shop\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"media-content border-shop\">\n\t\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\"><strong>Please note:<\/strong><\/span> Please refer to the FAQ of our upgrade guide from JTL-Shop 4 to JTL-Shop 5: <span style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\"><a style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\" href=\"https:\/\/guide.jtl-software.com\/en\/jtl-shop\/jtl-shop-fee-based-editions\/upgrade-from-jtl-shop-4-to-jtl-shop-5\/#faq\">Upgrade FAQ<\/a><\/span> and follow the instructions for the necessary rework in relation to a version update: <span style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\"><a style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\" href=\"https:\/\/guide.jtl-software.com\/en\/jtl-shop\/jtl-shop-fee-based-editions\/upgrade-from-jtl-shop-4-to-jtl-shop-5\/#schritt-6-nacharbeiten\">Further steps after the update of JTL-Shop<\/a><\/span>.\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"d-flex align-items-center hl-shop\" id=\"will-my-template-adjustments-be-overwritten-during-a-shop-update\">Will my template adjustments be overwritten during a shop update? <span id='anchor-will-my-template-adjustments-be-overwritten-during-a-shop-update' data-href='#will-my-template-adjustments-be-overwritten-during-a-shop-update' class='far fa-link' data-anchor><\/span><\/h2>\t<p>The directories<span class=\"highlight\">\/templates\/Evo<\/span> and, from JTL-Shop 5, <span class=\"highlight\">\/templates\/Nova<\/span> will always be overwritten during a shop update and will overwrite all changes you have made to the templates in these directories. Thus, the adjustments do not exist anymore. Therefore you need to save your template before the update via FTP.<\/p>\n<p>If you use child templates or use a completely separate template, i.e. do not use the aforementioned directories for your adjustments, nothing will be overwritten. Please note, however, that updates to the templates may be necessary so that they are compatible with the newer version of JTL-Shop.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"d-flex align-items-center hl-shop\" id=\"how-do-i-change-the-php-version\">How do I change the PHP version? <span id='anchor-how-do-i-change-the-php-version' data-href='#how-do-i-change-the-php-version' class='far fa-link' data-anchor><\/span><\/h2><ol start=\"1\" class=\"list-reset step mb-5 list-shop normal-step\">\n\t<li >\n\tLog in to Plesk.
