You now want to import the data into a new database.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"d-flex align-items-center hl-wawi\" id=\"import-order\">Import order <span id='anchor-import-order' data-href='#import-order' class='far fa-link' data-anchor><\/span><\/h2>\t<p>When you import CSV files into a new database, you should always perform the data import according to the order in the <span class=\"highlight\">Data category<\/span> field. For example, you must import categories and configuration groups before you import item data. This is the only way to ensure that the category saved in the CSV file is assigned correctly.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"d-flex align-items-center hl-wawi\" id=\"importing-a-csv-file\">Importing a CSV file <span id='anchor-importing-a-csv-file' data-href='#importing-a-csv-file' class='far fa-link' data-anchor><\/span><\/h2>\t<p>Importing CSV files always works the same in JTL-POS, no matter whether they contain category, item or customer data.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"d-flex align-items-center hl-wawi\" id=\"structure-of-csv-files\">Structure of CSV files <span id='anchor-structure-of-csv-files' data-href='#structure-of-csv-files' class='far fa-link' data-anchor><\/span><\/h3>\t<p>CSV files for JTL-POS must always have the same structure The header of a file with item data, for example, looks like this:<\/p>\n<div data-codecopy=\"1\" class=\"media-item\">\n\t<div class=\"media-object\">\n\t\t<span class=\"fa-stack fa-stacksize-2x\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"far fa-circle fa-stack-2x text-pos\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"fas fa-code fa-stack-1x text-pos\"><\/span>\n\t\t<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"media-content\">\n\t\t<pre><code class=\"rounded bg-rysywhite p-5 \">Internal Key,Item Name,Variation1 Name,Variation1 value,Variation2 Name,Variation2 value,Variation3 Name,Variation3 value,Variation4 Name,Variation4 value,SKU,Barcode,Tax Rate,Eat in Take out Tax Active,Price,Purchase Price,Discount Percentage,Not Discountable,Inventory Management Active,Quantity,Split Quantity,Sales Unit,Note,Blocked,DepositClass,DepositClass Amount,DepositClass Name Receipt,Image Path,Quantity as Separate Line Items,Print Kitchen Receipt,Category Name,Tags,Sort Number,Configuration Group Name<\/code><\/pre>\n\t\t<span class=\"fas fa-paste text-shaftblue copy-btn\"><\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\t<p>As you can see, the comma acts as a separator between the individual columns. The quote character is &#8220;. The quote character must be used if the separator is part of a data field to be imported. In order to view the structure of a CSV file, we recommend performing a CSV export of the respective file (please see: <span style=\"color: #336699;\"><a style=\"color: #336699;\" title=\"Exporting data via CSV\" href=\"https:\/\/guide.jtl-software.com\/en\/jtl-pos\/import-export\/exporting-data-via-csv\/\">Exporting data via CSV<\/a><\/span>). You can also edit this kind of file and import it again at a later time.<\/p>\n<div class=\"media-object media-object-border d-flex align-items-top\">\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t<span class=\"mt-1 mr-3 flex-shrink-0 far fa-info-circle fa-2x columnsize-fa-2x text-pos\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"media-content border-pos\">\n\t\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #336699;\"><strong>Note on image folders:<\/strong><\/span> Image folders with item or category images can be referenced in a CSV file. The image folder must always be specified relative to the folder in which the CSV file is located. Example: The images are in the subfolder \u201cImages\u201d of the folder in which the CSV file is stored.
