Some of them, e.g. a set of dumbbells, consist of several components (plates and bars). You are also selling these components individually. By using a bill of materials, you are ensuring that the quantity of available items is always displayed correctly.\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"d-flex align-items-center\" id=\"general-info-on-bills-of-materials\">General info on bills of materials <span id='anchor-general-info-on-bills-of-materials' data-href='#general-info-on-bills-of-materials' class='far fa-link' data-anchor><\/span><\/h2>\t<p>In JTL-Wawi, bills of materials (BOMs) are items that are comprised of at least two individual items. A BOM can have an indefinite number of components in varying quantities.<\/p>\n\t<p><b>Delivery time:<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"pb-3 media-object media-object-border d-flex align-items-top\">\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t<span class=\"mt-1 mr-3 flex-shrink-0 far fa-info-circle fa-2x columnsize-fa-2x text-wawi\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"media-content border-wawi\">\n\t\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #f68b25;\"><b>Please note: <\/b><\/span>Take into account the general delivery time logic in JTL-Shop: <span style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\"><a style=\"color: #5cbcf6;\" href=\"https:\/\/guide.jtl-software.com\/en\/jtl-shop\/appearance\/displayed-delivery-times-in-jtl-shop\/\">Displayed delivery times in JTL-Shop<\/a><\/span>.\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\t<p>The delivery time of a BOM depends on the availability of its individual components. Only inventory items will be taken into account. This means that the option\u00a0<span class=\"highlight\">Inventory management active<\/span>\u00a0must be enabled for at least one component. Otherwise the shipping status cannot be displayed.<\/p>\n<p>The delivery time depends on the availability of all required components. It must be possible to deliver the BOM at least once. Instead, the entered value will be used as the procurement time. The lowest stock level is the decisive factor. This means that when a BOM consists of two components and the first component is in stock five times and the second is in stock three times, the BOM will only be displayed as being available three times.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pb-3 media-object media-object-border d-flex align-items-top\">\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t<span class=\"mt-1 mr-3 flex-shrink-0 far fa-info-circle fa-2x columnsize-fa-2x text-wawi\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"media-content border-wawi\">\n\t\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #f68b25;\"><b>Please note: <\/b><\/span>Components that allow negative stock are not used for the calculation of BOM availability.\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\t<p><b>Price:<\/b><br \/>\nThe total price of the BOM can be set independently of the price of the individual components. To help you determine the total price, the average net purchase price of a BOM in the item master data is calculated from the purchase prices of the individual components.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that you must first change the global settings for this. Read more on: <span style=\"color: #f68b25;\"><a style=\"color: #f68b25;\" href=\"https:\/\/guide.jtl-software.com\/jtl-wawi\/global\/globale-artikeleinstellungen-anpassen\/#stuecklisten\">Adjusting global settings<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Storage\/Pick lists:<\/b><br \/>\nIn JTL-Wawi, BOMs are only combined during the picking process. Therefore, up until delivery, it does not matter whether you sell its components individually or as a BOM. The components of a bill of materials also do not necessarily have to be stored in the same place. It is possible to pre-pack BOMs. However, if you do so, you will not be able to sell the components individually.<\/p>\n<div class=\"media-object media-object-border d-flex align-items-top\">\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t<span class=\"mt-1 mr-3 flex-shrink-0 far fa-info-circle fa-2x columnsize-fa-2x text-wawi\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"media-content border-wawi\">\n\t\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #f68b25;\"><b>Note on items varying in quantity:<\/b><\/span>\u00a0If you offer items in varying quantities\u2014e.g. individually as well as in packs of five and ten\u2014we recommend working with BOMs even when you pre-pack the items. In that case, the five-pack is a BOM that contains the same item five times. This has the benefit that you can still use the five-pack to process individual sales orders and vice versa as long as there is sufficient stock. It also means that individual returns of items in a five-pack can be handled more easily.\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\t<p><b>Notes:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-reset ml-3 list-icons list-custom-square list-wawi\">\n\t<li >\n\t\t\t<span class=\"list-icon fas fa-square\"><\/span>\t\tParent items cannot be BOMs.\t<\/li><li >\n\t\t\t<span class=\"list-icon fas fa-square\"><\/span>\t\tIt is not possible to add a parent item to a BOM. Only standard individual items or child items can be part of a BOM.\t<\/li><li >\n\t\t\t<span class=\"list-icon fas fa-square\"><\/span>\t\tThe option\u00a0<span class=\"highlight\">Inventory management active<\/span> is transferred from BOM components to the BOM.\t<\/li><li >\n\t\t\t<span class=\"list-icon fas fa-square\"><\/span>\t\tThe option\u00a0<span class=\"highlight\">Allow negative stock<\/span> is also transferred from the BOM component to the BOM.\t<\/li><\/ul><h2 class=\"d-flex align-items-center hl-wawi\" id=\"step-1-creating-components\">Step 1: Creating components <span id='anchor-step-1-creating-components' data-href='#step-1-creating-components' class='far fa-link' data-anchor><\/span><\/h2>\t<p>This step is only necessary if the individual components that you want to be part of the BOM have not yet been created as individual items.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"list-reset step mb-5 list-wawi normal-step\">\n\t<li >\n\tCreate all items in JTL-Wawi that you want to be part of the BOM, e.g. the bar, discs, and screws.<\/li><li >\n\tSet the price for each item and decide if you want inventory management to be active and on which platforms you would like to list the item.<\/li><\/ol>\t<p>In this step, you can of course make use of all the regular options for creating an item. In JTL-Wawi, a component does not differ from a standard item. However, a component cannot be a parent item, a configuration item or a BOM itself. Child items, on the other hand, can be components of a BOM.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"d-flex align-items-center hl-wawi\" id=\"step-2-creating-bills-of-materials\">Step 2: Creating bills of materials <span id='anchor-step-2-creating-bills-of-materials' data-href='#step-2-creating-bills-of-materials' class='far fa-link' data-anchor><\/span><\/h2><ol start=\"1\" class=\"list-reset step mb-5 list-wawi normal-step\">\n\t<li class=\"media-single-line\">\n\tCreate an item in JTL-Wawi that will later be sold as a BOM.<\/li><li class=\"media-single-line\">\n\tIn the item master data, go to the tab\u00a0<span class=\"highlight\">BOM\/Configurator<\/span>.<\/li><li >\n\tEnable the option\u00a0<span class=\"highlight\">The item is a BOM.<\/span>. Then click\u00a0<span class=\"highlight\">Add<\/span>.
