    Global settings

    Pane A: Items

Item display filter: Here you define which items are displayed by default:

    • Show all items: Displays all active items in JTL-Shop without taking into account whether stock is available or not.
    • Show only items with available stock: Displays only those items that are currently in stock.
    • Show only items with available stock or option “Allow negative stock”: Displays all items that are currently in stock and all items for which the option Allow negative stock has been activated in JTL-Wawi under Item master data > General > Negative stock.

Direct access to sold out items: Here you can define whether items without available stock can also be called up directly via the item URL if they are no longer displayed in overviews by the item display filter.

Green stock level: If the setting Display stock level > Stock level indicator in green, yellow and red is activated in the settings for the Item detail page, you can specify here starting from which stock level the text and colour of the language variable ampelGruen are displayed. If you select one of the other options under Display stock level, this setting only changes the colour of the stock level indicator, but not the text.

The yellow stock level is displayed between the green stock level and the value set for the red stock level. In the default settings of JTL-Shop, the item will either say “Available immediately” in green or “Low stock level” in yellow. You can adjust this text in the language administration in the section global in the values ampelGruen or ampelGelb.

Red stock level: If the setting Display stock level > Stock level indicator in green, yellow and red is activated in the settings for the Item detail page, you can specify starting from which stock level the text of the language variable ampelRot is displayed. If you select one of the other options under Display stock level, this setting only changes the colour of the stock level indicator, but not the text.

The yellow stock level is displayed between the value entered here and the value of the Green stock level setting. In the default settings of JTL-Shop, the item is then marked “Currently out of stock” in red. You can adjust this text in the language administration in the section global in the value ampelRot.

Green stock level with “Allow negative stock”: This option defines what happens when items for which the option Allow negative stock has been activated in the item master data of JTL-Wawi no longer have any stock. Yes enables that the items are still displayed as available (content of the language variable ampelGruen). No ignores the Allow negative stock option and displays the item as sold out.

If price is 0: Here you define what happens when an item with a price of 0 is uploaded to JTL-Shop. By default, the option Price on request, item not for sale is activated. This is to prevent you from accidentally offering items for free. However, if you wish to do so, you can change this setting to Show price, item for sale.

Variation values without available stock: Here you define for variation items for which the option Track stocks of variations has been activated how to proceed if individual variation values are not in stock. By default, (sold out) is appended to them. However, you can also display them as usual or hide them.

Show that item can be shipped free of charge: This option allows you to specify whether an indication that the respective item can be shipped free of charge is displayed. Whether this information is displayed may depend on the destination country and whether the value entered into Free shipping from is below the item value for the respective shipping method. Please also note the setting Show countries free of shipping costs below.

In the default settings of JTL-Shop, Free shipping is displayed under the price of an item on the item detail page. You can adjust this text in the language administration in the global section in the value noShippingcostsTo.

Forwarding to basket: With this option you determine whether a customer should be forwarded directly to the basket as soon as they place an item in the basket. If you select No for this option, the customer will be asked whether they would like to open the basket now after placing an item in the shopping basket.

Display shipping class in shipping text: Here you determine whether the deviating shipping class is displayed for items that do not have the “Standard” shipping class in the item master data of JTL-Wawi. The shipping class is displayed in the front end behind the note “+ shipping costs”.

Show possible delivery delay: With this option you can determine whether a possible delivery delay should be displayed in the basket. This can be caused by the fact that Allow negative stock is enabled for an item in JTL-Wawi and the stock level is below 0. Inventory management must be activated for this option.

Show countries free of shipping costs: Here you define how the countries with free shipping are to be displayed.

    • Mouseover shows countries: If a customer moves the cursor over the “free shipping” indicator, a box appears with all countries to which shipping is free of charge.
    • Countries visible immediately: All countries are displayed directly on the item detail page behind the “free shipping” indicator.

Minimum number of sales for bestsellers: Here you can define the minimum number of times an item must have been sold in order to be marked as a bestseller.

    • Everything is visible: The visitor sees exactly what a logged-in customer from the standard customer group would see.
    • Prices only visible after login: The visitor sees all categories and items that a registered customer from the standard customer group would also see but no prices.
    • Items/categories are only visible after login: A visitor only sees the start page and general pages of your online shop. They can only see item and category pages after they created a customer account and are logged in.

Activation of new customer accounts: Here you determine whether customer accounts must first be activated in JTL-Wawi.

    • Immediately active and enabled for purchases: A customer can place orders directly after creating a customer account.
    • Must be enabled in JTL-Wawi first: A customer can only place orders once their customer account has been activated and an online shop synchronisation has been carried out. Online shop customers are activated in JTL-Wawi in the area Platforms > New customers via the Activate button.

Automatic redirection from http to https: Here you specify whether your online shop should only be accessible with an encrypted internet connection via https and whether there should be an automatic switch from http to https. For this, you need a valid SSL certificate on your server.

Refer to shipping costs underneath item price: Here you determine whether a note on possible shipping costs should appear next to the item price.

Items with release date in future: Here you define whether items whose release date is in the future (i.e. a release date in the future has been stored in JTL-Wawi) can already be purchased as soon as they are displayed in JTL-Shop or whether they are not yet available for purchase.

    • index: The characteristic pages are indexed and can be found via search engines.

Pane D: Show value-added tax (e.g. small business regulation)

Display of VAT for items: Here you define how the VAT is to be displayed for the item.

    • Insert “incl./excl. VAT” with respective VAT rate automatically: Automatically inserts a note whether the price is inclusive or exclusive of VAT, depending on which settings have been made in the customer group in JTL-Wawi. In addition, the corresponding tax rate is inserted.
    • Insert “final price*”: Displays the message “Final price*”. You can enter the note appearing next to this option under Notes in footer.
    • Automatically insert “incl./excl. VAT” without VAT rate automatically: Automatically inserts a note whether the price is inclusive or exclusive of VAT, depending on which settings have been made in the customer group in JTL-Wawi. No tax rate is inserted with this option.

Notes in footer: Here you can specify a note that will be displayed in the footer of JTL-Shop. This is done independently of other selected options.

Show tax positions in order process/emails: Here you specify whether VAT should be shown to the customer during the order process and in emails. This option is mainly aimed at sellers who fall in the small-business owner category.

    Pane E: Maintenance mode

If, for example, you are installing updates or carrying out other longer work on the settings, re recommend switching to the maintenance mode. During maintenance mode, your customers cannot see any content of the online shop. Instead, they see a message whose content you can determine via the language variable maintenanceModeActive.

Show shipping cost determination: Here you can determine whether the shipping calculation is to be displayed on the special page “Shipments”. With the help of the shipping calculation, your customers can calculate themselves how high the shipping costs will be.
