Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Find out more about the new editions and packages here. Check our FAQ for frequently asked questions about the product editions.
Initial population of the test shop
Your task/initial situation
You do not have your own online shop yet but you have already added your product range to JTL-Wawi. You would now like to load the items into the test shop that you requested in an earlier step.
Populating the test shop
Complete the following steps to connect the test shop to JTL-Wawi and create your first category and item:
- In JTL-Wawi, open the menu Online shop > Online shop connection and select Create in the next dialogue box. The dialogue box Online shop connection opens.
- Into Online shop connection, enter the data of the test shop from the test shop setup email.
- Select the currencies, languages, and customer groups that you need for your online shop. Also mark a currency, language, and customer group as default by clicking on the respective line and selecting the Default button.
- Click once on Test connection/Check licence. A message pops up telling you whether the http connection is working. If this is the case, confirm by clicking OK. The window closes.
- Go to the item management and create a new category or open an existing one.
- In the Online shops/JTL-POS pane, check your online shop.
- Create a new item or open an existing one in that category. Open the tab Online shops/JTL-POS in the bottom right corner. Activate your online shop here, too.
- Keep open the item master data, go to the Warehouse tab, and check the box Inventory management active. Now the item has a stock level (via goods receipts). Items without stock and empty categories are normally hidden by the online shop in accordance with the standard settings.
- Carry out an online shop synchronisation. Afterwards you item is available in the test shop.
