Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Find out more about the new editions and packages here. Check our FAQ for frequently asked questions about the product editions.
Loading an existing shop into the test shop
Your task/initial situation
You already have an online shop by a third-party provider which is connected to JTL-Wawi via JTL-Connector (see: JTL-Connector). Now you wish to add your products to a JTL-Shop test shop.
Loading an existing shop into the test shop
We recommend starting a Multishop test period via your JTL customer account and using it to test JTL-Shop. This has the advantage that you can use your current shop in parallel during the test phase and no data must be overwritten. For more information, please see Connecting several online shops with the Multishop Module.
You already use JTL-Wawi for an online shop and would like to see how the test shop handles the existing data. Proceed as follows:
- Carry out a synchronisation with your usual JTL-Shop.
Important: From this moment on, nobody must work in JTL-Wawi! Changes made afterwards will be overwritten if you have to restore the backup.
- Do a backup of your JTL-Wawi database for the tenant to which the test shop will be connected.
- In Online shop connection, instead of your usual shop data, enter the test shop data. This means that from that moment on, JTL-Wawi does not synchronise with the former shop but with the new test shop. You can find the connection data for the test shop in the email we sent you.
- After changing the data, you need to carry out an online shop synchronisation. In Online shop > Complete synchronisation, check the box under All for your online shop. JTL-Wawi will populate the test shop with the necessary data.
- The test shop is now ready to be tested. Do not carry out another synchronisation. Unfortunately, it is not possible to try out the order process with a test shop. The reason for this is that JTL-Wawi was connected to a different online shop before and the customers of the shop have been linked to their counterpart in JTL-Wawi.
- After the test, replace the test shop data in the Online shop connection with the data of your actual shop again.
