Mobile PackingBench: example scenarios
The Mobile PackingBench shipping process allows you to pick and pack your shipments directly at the storage location in a single step. On this page we will present you with scenarios for which the Mobile PackingBench is particularly suitable. We will also show you how to make goods issue even more efficient.
Scenario 1: Direct shipments of large and heavy goods
Your task/initial situation
Picking items
- Create a pick list using a suitably configured template. This pick list can contain any number of sales orders with exactly one item, e.g. a washing machine.
- Go to the storage location specified on the pick list and scan the pick list and item label of the washing machine. The shipping documents and the shipping label are printed automatically.
- Attach the shipping documents and the shipping label to the washing machine.
- Transport the washing machine to the loading site.
- Goods issue is complete. You can now continue with the next sales order.
Scenario 2: Direct shipping by picking to the packing cart of a shipping service provider
Your task/initial situation
As picking is performed per sales order, the process is ill-suited for sales orders with many line items, for picking in large warehouses or storage sections, or when the distance between items is too great. This would only lead to unnecessary legwork. For larger warehouses or storage spaces, the processes of collective picking with EazyShipping, Shipping boxes or Pick-to-box are preferable.
Picking items
- Create a pick list using a suitably configured template.
The pick list will contain several sales orders. Each sales order contains only a single item. - Go to the first storage location specified on the pick list and scan the respective pick list and item label. The shipping documents and the shipping label are printed automatically.
- If necessary, pack the item and the shipping documents and attach the shipping label.
- Go to the next storage location and scan and pack the item. The pick list will now lead you through the warehouse on short paths until all sales orders have been picked.
- Goods issue is complete. You can now continue with the next packing cart.
Scenario 3: Picking fast-moving items
Your task/initial situation
Picking items
- Create a pick list using a suitably configured template.
The pick list can contain several sales orders with multiple items. - Pick the first sales order, ideally by taking the item off the shelf next to the packing bench, scan the item and put it directly in the shipping box.
- Once you have scanned the last item of a sales order, the shipping documents and the shipping label are printed automatically. The package can now be sealed.
- Continue with the next sales order until you have completed the pick list.
Scenario 4: Picking small items from small warehouses/storage sections
Your task/initial situation
Picking items
- Create a pick list using a suitably configured template.
The pick list can contain several sales orders with multiple items. - Pick your items, ideally by taking the item off the shelf next to the packing bench, scan the item and put it directly in the shipping box.
- Once you have scanned the last item of a sales order, the shipping documents and the shipping label are printed automatically. The package can now be sealed.
- Continue with the next sales order until you have completed the pick list.
