Goods issue via Pick-to-box with pre-picking

Introduction

This process was developed primarily for warehouses with the following characteristics:

There are many unlabelled items in stock. In JTL-WMS, every item should ideally be identifiable at all times. For this purpose, JTL-WMS offers the possibility to print Item labels in the goods receipt area. However, for some items it is not possible to label them due to cost or design reasons. Nevertheless, it must be possible to identify the item at each step of the process. In goods receipt, for example, this can be done via the delivery note. During picking, the item can be identified by a label at the storage location of the item (be careful with locations at which different items are stored). For the processes Shipping boxes (in the dialogue Fill boxes) and EazyShipping (when packing), however, the item must again be identified. In most cases there is no item label available here. Therefore, Pick-to-box is advantageous for this type of item because the item only has to be identified when picking items at the storage location. Afterwards, the item is in a one-order-only box on the picking trolley and does not need to be scanned again.

Therefore Pick-to-box is suited for sales orders with many unlabelled items.

There are items that are to be pre-picked into shipping boxes or goods that are to be packed directly into shipping boxes at goods receipt: However, the process “Shipping boxes” must be selected because this is the only process in which goods can be temporarily stored in shipping boxes.

If the two points mentioned above apply, JTL-WMS offers the possibility to combine Pick-to-box with Shipping boxes. The process then looks like this:
Picking is carried out with the Pick-to-box picking process. At the end of Pick-to-box, the boxes are moved from the picking trolley to shipping boxes at the box location. Thus, both conditions are fulfilled (item scan is only possible at the storage location and pre-picking is possible). Please note that this process requires an additional step when compared to the processes Shipping boxes or Pick-to-box. It should also be noted that it is not possible to activate both Pick-to-box with shipping boxes and without shipping boxes at the same time.
