Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Find out more about the new editions and packages here. Check our FAQ for frequently asked questions about the product editions.
Redeeming vouchers in JTL-POS
Your task/initial situation
You are already logged in to JTL-Vouchers, have established a connection to JTL-POS and created a voucher. Now you want to redeem a digital voucher or a gift card.
In order for the voucher to be redeemed, you still have to create the voucher payment method.
Creating the payment method
- Create a new payment method under Settings > Payment methods.
- Name the payment method voucher.
- Enter the DATEV G/L account of the chart of accounts you are using. Please talk to your tax accountant about this if you have further questions.
- Switch Voucher to active.
- Save the payment method using the green check mark.
Redeeming a voucher
- Create a new receipt.
- Place the item on the receipt to be paid with the voucher.
- Tap on Go to checkout.
- Select the Voucher button. A dialogue box opens.
- There you enter the voucher code that is on the customer’s voucher card or digital voucher.
- Optionally enter the PIN. The PIN is also on the voucher card or digital voucher. The PIN area might have to be scratched free to reveal the code.
- Click OK to save your input.
The voucher value will then be deducted from the item price. If the item price exceeds the voucher value, the rest can be paid normally with a different payment method. In this case, the voucher is reserved as a partial payment and can be removed by holding your finger down on it for a short time.
If the voucher value exceeds the item price, the rest of the amount will remain on the voucher and the payment process will be completed. The remaining voucher balance be queried in the JTL-Vouchers portal under the corresponding voucher ID.
Please note: The remaining amount on the voucher cannot be paid out in cash at this time.
