Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Find out more about the new editions and packages here. Check our FAQ for frequently asked questions about the product editions.
Refunding returned items via a voucher with JTL-POS
Your task/initial situation
You are already logged in to JTL-Vouchers and established a connection to JTL-POS. You would now like to create vouchers in JTL-POS.
If you have not yet connected JTL-Vouchers to JTL-POS, follow these instructions first: Connecting JTL-Vouchers with JTL-POS.
For the multi-purpose voucher, you must have previously created a tax rate of 0%: Managing tax rates in JTL-POS.
Multi-purpose vouchers are usually sold at a tax rate of 0%, since their purpose is not specified and thus the tax to be paid cannot be determined at the time of sale. Single-purpose vouchers, on the other hand, usually use a fixed tax rate, e.g. 7%, since later use is limited to specific services or items, so that the tax class to be used can be determined before redemption. In our description, we create a multi-purpose voucher for free use.
Please note: This description is only valid for JTL-POS StandAlone. If you use JTL-POS ERPConnected, you must create the voucher via JTL-Wawi and activate it via the respective sales platform. Please read: Creating vouchers in JTL-Wawi.

Step 4: Returning the receipt
- Open a paid receipt.
- Tap Options > Return receipt.
- Make all necessary settings regarding the return reason and the line items of the return.
- Then activate the option Pay out amount as voucher.
- JTL-POS now creates a new receipt and automatically adds the digital voucher. The voucher has the value of the previously selected line items.
- Go to the payment screen with Go to checkout.
- If the amount is EUR 0.00, the Complete button will be displayed instead of Cash. Tap Complete. The process is now complete.
Please note: Updating of the voucher serial numbers is not yet automatic and must be triggered manually on a regular basis. This function will be submitted later in the course of the pilot phase.
