Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Find out more about the new editions and packages here. Check our FAQ for frequently asked questions about the product editions.
Creating a cash book
Your task/initial situation
You have cash receipts and want to export a cash book with the receipts from your cash register.
According to German Commercial Code, the cash book is an important part of bookkeeping. With the cash book, you get an overview of how much cash was given to you and handed out by you as well as the amount of cash in your cash register. The difference to the day-end closing is that the day-end closing is a daily report while the cash book represents a complete log of all (cash) transactions for a previously specified period.
With the option Create cash book for all records, you can also create a cash book across all payment methods.
Creating a cash book for cash payments
- Open the menu and select Cash book.
- In the Dates area, you can use the drop-down menu to select the desired period.
- In the Output method section, select whether you want to save the cash book as a file or send it as an email.
- Click on Create cash book. Depending on which output option you have chosen, the file is in your download folder as a PDF or will be sent to you by email address.
Attention: You may not make any changes to the exported file, otherwise the cash book will not be recognised by the tax office.
Creating a cash book for all payment methods
- Tap Create cash book for all records. Depending on which output option you have chosen, the file is in your download folder as a PDF or will be sent to you by email address.
