    Adjusting the cross-selling settings

    Your task/initial situation

You want to cross-sell to your customers during the sale and make appropriate suggestions about what they could buy in addition. You have already stored suitable items in JTL-Wawi (see: Setting up cross-selling in JTL-Wawi). In addition, you want to make suggestions to your customers that reflect the buying behaviour of your other customers.

Cross-selling on the item detail pages

    1. Log in to the back end of JTL-Shop with your admin access data.
    2. In the back end of JTL-Shop, go to View > Standard views > Item detail page.

Here you will find two options for cross-selling:

    • Show default cross-selling: This type of cross-selling is set manually in JTL-Wawi and is always displayed exactly as you specified it.
    • Show “Others also bought”: This type of cross-selling is generated dynamically with each sale in your online shop. The baskets of your customers are analysed and the items that were most frequently purchased together with the displayed item are displayed.
    1. Set one or both options to Yes to display the cross-selling items under an item. If necessary, decide on the number of items displayed.

In your online shop, the result will look something like this:

In addition to cross-selling under an item, you can also have cross-selling items displayed during the checkout process.

    1. In the back end of JTL-Shop, go to View > Standard views > Order process to open the page Basket/Checkout.

In the basket pane, you will find the two options for cross-selling:

    • Show cross-selling in basket: Ensures that items that have also been purchased by other customers in combination with the items in the shopping basket are displayed during checkout.
    • Number of cross-selling items in basket: Sets how many items are offered to the customer during checkout.
    1. Set the option Show cross-selling in basket to Yes and define how many items you want your customers to see.

In your online shop, the result will look something like this once a customer opens their basket:
