Thank you for using the English version of the JTL-Guide!
We are currently still building up the English documentation; not all sections have been translated yet. Please note that there may still be German screenshots or links to German pages even on pages that have already been translated. This guide mostly addresses English speaking users in Germany.

Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Find out more about the new editions and packages here. Check our FAQ for frequently asked questions about the product editions.
Exporting and downloading the sitemap
Your task/initial situation
You have already defined the structure of your sitemap (see Adapting the sitemap structure) and would now like to export your sitemap, for example to upload it to Google.
Exporting the sitemap
- In the back end of JTL-Shop, open the Sitemap export page via Administration > Export > Sitemap.
- First click on the button Create sitemap again now. This way you can be sure that the sitemap you download contains all the latest data.
- Click on the download to download the file sitemap_index.xml or copy the address of the file sitemap_index.xml to enter it directly into a search engine.
Uploading the sitemap to search engines
You can either upload the downloaded file sitemap_index.xml or the link to all common search engines. In the following we will give you a few hints. However, as these are third-party services, we recommend that you check the search engine operators’ sites for information on how exactly the submission of a sitemap works. All services offered usually require the registration of your website first.
