Setting up JTL-WMS Mobile
Your task/initial situation
Requirements
Before you can use JTL-WMS Mobile, you need to set up JTL-Wawi and JTL-WMS (if you are not already using them).
The JTL-WMS Mobile Server that is needed for using JTL-WMS Mobile is installed automatically during the installation of JTL-Wawi. This ensures that both products are always available in the same version. During installation, a shortcut to JTL-WMS Mobile Server is automatically stored in the Windows Start menu, from which you can start the application.
Setting up JTL-WMS Mobile Server
Step 1: Preparation
If you as a user do not have the appropriate rights, it may be necessary that you execute the JTL-WMS Mobile Server as administrator. In addition, you might need to open the port you’re using with your Windows and/or router firewall first. This step may be necessary especially if you deviate from the standard port 8080. Depending on the hardware and software used, the steps involved in opening the port can vary considerably, which is why we unfortunately cannot offer you any explicit instructions for this. However, the standard port 8080 is usually open for web applications and is unlikely to cause any problems.
Step 2: Configuring the Mobile Server
- Start the JTL-WMS Mobile Server application. You can find the application in the Start menu. The JTL-WMS Mobile Server management opens.
- Select the Server tab to create a new server.
- Select the database profile you want to use.
- In the Configuration area, first select Name, Tenant and Warehouse from top to bottom.
- Select HTTP or HTTPS for the Protocol. If you select HTTPS, the Certificate option appears.
- Select the IP address and the Port via which your Mobile Server can be accessed. Make sure that the port is open. We recommend that you use port 8080 if it is not yet occupied by another application on the same IP.
- If you have a specific certificate, select it from the list. Otherwise, a new certificate is created by clicking Create certificate.
- Under Operating mode, choose whether you want to start your server as an Application or as a Windows System service.
- Click Add server to end the configuration and add a server with the selected settings. The Login dialogue box opens.
- In the Login dialogue box, enter your login details for JTL-Wawi and click Save.
You have successfully created your Mobile Server and can find it in the Server overview area.
Step 3: Starting the Mobile Server
- In the Administration of JTL-WMS Mobile Server dialogue box, go to the Status tab.
- Click on the Start button to start the JTL-WMS Mobile Server. Once the server has been started, the status of the server changes from Stopped to Started.
From now on, you can reach the online interface of JTL-WMS Mobile via the server IP and the specified port (for example http://192.168.2.110:8080) on any device in your company network.
JTL-WMS Mobile Server remembers your settings so that you only have to start the server at the next start.

- If you have a specific certificate, select it from the list. Otherwise, a new certificate is created by clicking Create certificate.
- Under Operating mode, select Windows System service.
