Detailed description: Blog
On this page, you will find a detailed description of the functions on the Blog page. You can reach this page in the back end of JTL-Shop via Marketing > Promotions > Blog posts. It includes the Unactivated comments, Posts, Categories, and Settings tabs.
Unactivated comments tab
Pane A: Entries
Total entries: Total number of comments that have yet to be activated.
Entries per page: Number of comments displayed in the overview.
Pane B: Unactivated comments
Visitors: Name of the visitor who left the comment on a blog post.
Headline: Headline of the blog post for which the comment was left.
Text: Content of the comment
Created on: Date on which the comment was left.
Pen icon: Click on the pen icon to edit the text of the comment.
Pane C: Toolbar
Select all: Activate this check box to select all comments.
Delete: Click on this button to delete one or more comment(s).
Activate: Click on this button to activate one or more comment(s).
Posts tab
Pane A: Entries
Total entries: Total number of blog posts
Entries per page: Number of blog posts displayed in the overview.
Pane B: Posts
Headline: Headline of the blog post
Customer group: Customer group to which the blog post is displayed. A blog post can also be displayed to several customer groups.
Created on: Date on which the blog post was created.
Active: Specifies whether the blog post is currently displayed.
Comments: Number of comments left on this blog post.
Last update: Indicates when the blog post was last edited.
Eye icon: Click on this icon to see a preview of the blog post.
Pen icon: Click on this icon to edit the blog post.
Pane C: Toolbar
Select all: Activate this check box to select all blog posts.
Delete: Click on this button to delete a blog post or several blog posts.
Create new post: Click on this button to create a new blog post. You will be redirected to the area Create new post. If you need a detailed description of this area, read the Detailed description: Create new post.
Categories tab
Pane A: Entries
Total entries: Total number of categories
Entries per page: Number of categories displayed in the overview.
Pane B: Categories
Name: Category name
Sorting: Specify where the category should be displayed. The lower the number entered, the higher up the category will be displayed.
Active: Shows whether the category is currently active and is displayed.
Last update: Shows when the category was last edited.
Pen icon: Click on this icon to edit the category.
Pane C: Toolbar
Select all: Activate this check box to select all categories.
Delete: Click on this button to delete one category or several categories.
Create new category: Click on this button to create a new category. You will be redirected to the area Create new category. If you need a detailed description of this area, read the Detailed description: Create new category.
Settings tab
Use blog: This option is activated by default. If you do not want to use the blog feature, select No from the drop-down menu.
Allow comments on blog posts: Specify whether visitors of your online shop or blog are allowed to leave comments.
Number of blog posts in overview: Specify how many blog posts are to be displayed in the blog overview of your online shop. Enter a number directly into the field or click the plus or minus button to specify a number.
Number of blog posts on homepage: Specify how many blog posts are to be displayed on the homepage of your online shop. Enter a number directly into the field or click the plus or minus button to specify a number.
Number of months/categories in the box: Specify how many months are to be displayed in the Blog (monthly overview) box or how many categories are to be displayed in the Blog (category overview) box. Enter a number directly into the field or click the plus or minus button to specify a number. The number 0 means that all months/categories are displayed. Read more on the topic: Managing boxes.
Activate comments: Specify whether you want to check and possibly edit the comments of visitors of your online shop before the comments become visible to the public.
Number of comments per page: Specify the maximum number of comments allowed per page. Enter a number directly into the field or click the plus or minus button to specify a number.
Maximum number of comments per post: Specify the maximum number of comments a user can leave for a blog post. Enter a number directly into the field or click the plus or minus button to specify a number. If you enter the number 0, the number of comments per post will not be limited.
Show blog categories under blog: Specify whether to display the blog categories under a selected blog post.
Show number of responses: Specify whether the number of replies to comments is to be displayed in parentheses behind the number of comments under the blog post in your online shop. You can write responses in the back end of JTL-Shop. Read more about: Responding to comments.
Prefix for monthly overview: Specify per language which prefix is to be used in URLs for the monthly overview.
Save: Click on this button to save your settings.
