    Detailed description: Create new post

    On this page, you will find a detailed description of the functions on the Create new post page. You can reach this page in the back end of JTL-Shop via Marketing > Promotions > Blog posts > Posts tab> Create new post button. It includes the areas Create new post and Meta/SEO.

    Pane: Create new post

    Customer group: Select which customer groups may read the blog post. Multiple selection is possible. For more information on this topic, click here: Creating customer groups in JTL-Wawi.


    Category: Specify the category in which the blog post is to be published. Categorisation allows you to group similar blog posts under one umbrella term. This way, you and your customers get a better overview and easier navigation of your blog posts.


    Created on: Specify which date should be displayed for the blog post.


    Active: Specify whether to display the blog post.


    Author: Select who should be displayed as the author of the blog post. This drop-down menu displays the users that were created for JTL-Shop. For more information on this topic, click here Managing users.


    Preview: Here you can upload an image that will be used as a thumbnail for the blog post. To do this, drag and drop an image into the Preview area or click the Browse button to select an image from your local memory. This setting is optional.


    Available images:

    Here you can upload one or more images that can be used in the blog post. This step is optional. Next to the image you will also find the link to include the image in the editor; an example syntax would be $#Image1#$. Images help to emphasise the message of your blog post. They are also more inviting and make customers want to read the blog post because it is more visually appealing. You can also use the images as links to your items.

    Pane: Meta/SEO

    Make meta/SEO settings for the German and English languages here.

    Headline: Enter the headline of the new blog post.


    SEO: Enter an SEO link name for your new blog post.


    Meta title: Enter the meta title for your blog post. The meta title is the page title that appears in the search engine results and briefly describes the content of the blog post.


    Meta description: Enter the meta description for the blog post. Depending on the search engine, the meta description can be displayed as a description of the page in the search engine results. It is a concise summary of the page’s contents.


    Meta keywords: Enter the meta keywords for the blog post. Meta keywords are keywords that describe the content of the blog post. They are not visible to visitors of the website but are used by (a few) search engines.


    Text: Enter the content of your blog post.


    Preview text: Enter a preview text for your new blog post. The preview text is displayed on the homepage of your online shop in the blog overview.
