Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Find out more about the new editions and packages here. Check our FAQ for frequently asked questions about the product editions.
Importing and exporting blueprints for portlets
Your task/initial situation
You can save your own portlets for the OnPage Composer as templates, so-called bluerprints, or add portlets that you have developed yourself. On this page we explain how to export and import your portlets as blueprints.
Portlet development
Portlets are stored in JSON format. Go to the developer documentation for JTL-Shop to learn what you have to consider when developing portlets: Go to developer documentation. In the following, we assume that you have already completely developed your portlet or exported it from another online shop (see below) or that it was provided to you by a JTL service partner.
Importing a portlet
- Log in to the admin back end of JTL-Shop with your access data.
- Switch to the front end of your online shop and navigate to the page where you want to insert the portlet.
- Click on the OnPage Composer icon at the top left of the page to open the OnPage Composer for this page. If necessary, open a draft for editing if there are already drafts for the page.
- Switch to the Blueprints tab.
- Click on the Import blueprints button. A window opens in which you can search for files on your computer.
- Navigate to your saved JSON file, select it, and click Open.
- Then drag your newly imported portlet to any position on the page as usual.
Exporting blueprints
You can also export portlets so that you can import them again as a blueprint elsewhere. If the portlet contains content or other portlets, these will also be exported.
- Open the page in OnPage Composer containing the portlet you want to export.
- Klicken Sie bei dem Portlet, das Sie exportieren möchten, auf die Schaltfläche Auswahl als Blueprint speichern.
- Enter a name for the Blueprint and click Save.
- Switch to the Blueprints tab. Here you can see all the blueprints that you can export, including the new blueprint you have just created.
- Hover over the blueprint and click the export button. Then select a storage location.
You can now import the exported template into other online shops as described above.
