We are currently still building up the English documentation; not all sections have been translated yet. Please note that there may still be German screenshots or links to German pages even on pages that have already been translated. This guide mostly addresses English speaking users in Germany.
Setting up default warehouses
Your task/initial situation
What is a default warehouse?
A default warehouse can be any room or building in which you temporarily store your goods until they are sold and which you manage yourself. For a default warehouse, only the stock of an item in the warehouse is stored, but not its location. Working with default warehouses is therefore particularly suitable for sellers with a manageable or very well-organised stock.
Setting up default warehouses
JTL-Wawi always requires a default warehouse. You do not necessarily have to store goods in this warehouse. It can also be completely empty. Therefore, a default warehouse is automatically created during the setup with the setup wizard. For more information, see the documentation for the Setup wizard.
To create a second default warehouse, proceed as follows in JTL-Wawi:
- Via Warehouses > Create: Warehouse, open the dialogue box Creating and editing warehouses. Here you can see a list of all warehouses managed in JTL-Wawi.
- Click Create. A new warehouse is added to the list, which you can then configure on the right-hand side.
- Give the warehouse a unique name and a unique code.
- Under Warehouse type, select Default. This option is pre-selected for you.
- Enter the address data of the warehouse and then click Save. The warehouse has now been created and can now be selected as an item location in JTL-Wawi.
