    Filling shipping boxes from the goods receipt

    With JTL-WMS, you can use the EazyShipping and Shipping boxes processes to pack and prepare your incoming goods for shipment directly during goods issue.
    You can also combine the two processes.

    Filling shipping boxes from the goods receipt

    The Shipping boxes process offers you the possibility of picking items directly into shipping boxes during goods receipt.

    Preparation

    In JTL-WMS, under Settings > Warehouse options in the Shipping processes tab, enable the options Shipping boxes and Allow pre-picking from goods receipt.

    You can use the EazyShipping shipping process in parallel. If you use both options in parallel, orders that fall under the EazyShipping process are given preference when the items are scanned during goods receipt.

    Conditions

    By default, only pick lists for sales orders for which all items are present in the warehouse are created for the Shipping Boxes process. Sales orders for which the items on the pick list are therefore always completed from the warehouse.

    Under the following conditions shipping boxes can be filled from the goods receipt:

    • You always want to fill shipping boxes from the goods receipt and have activated the option Allow pre-picking from goods receipt in JTL-WMS under Settings >Warehouse options > Shipping processes. There you can also decide whether you only want to fill pre-picked shipping boxes or whether you want to fill or pre-pick empty shipping boxes during goods receipt.
    • A sales order has been selected for pre-picking in JTL-Wawi in the Shipments area using the button Sales order > WMS shipping options > Pre-picking. Even if the sales order is not completely available, the deliverable items are placed on the pick list and can be pre-picked into a shipping box. As soon as there is an inbound posting for the missing items in the goods receipt, they can be packed directly into the appropriate shipping box. This procedure is particularly important if you order many of your items from our supplier only when you receive the sales order.
    • A shortage occurred during picking and the item is no longer in stock. In this case, all existing items are already placed in the shipping box. The invoice is not printed automatically because the sales order is not complete. When there is an inbound posting for the missing item, it can then be taken directly to the shipping box.
    • A shipping box is no longer complete when some of its contents have been returned to the storage location from the pick list overview or from the box overview. Not all items of the order are in the shipping box anymore. When there is an inbound posting for the missing item, it can then be taken directly to the shipping box.

    Procedure

    Create an inbound posting for an item in goods receipt.
    JTL-WMS checks if there is a shipping box for a sales order for which the item is needed.

    If this is the case, a dialogue box opens, showing in which box the item should be placed in which quantity. At this time the item has already been posted to the box, so the physical item should be put directly into it.

    If more than one item has been posted in the goods receipt and several shipping boxes are waiting for this item, the shipping boxes are filled one after the other. For each shipping box, a separate dialogue box opens.
