Thank you for using the English version of the JTL-Guide!

Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Find out more about the new editions and packages here. Check our FAQ for frequently asked questions about the product editions.
Deleting customers
Your task/initial situation
A customer asks you to remove their data from the system because they no longer wish to purchase from you. You would now like to delete the customer.
Deleting customers
- Open the Customers menu item. The Manage customers dialogue box will open. Here, you can view a list of all customers that have been created in JTL-POS.
- Hold your finger down on the customer’s name. The customer is selected and a recycle bin appears.
- Tap the recycle bin icon. The customer is now removed from JTL-POS.
Please note: The customer will only be deleted permanently from the JTL-POS database if they had never been assigned to a completed receipt. Otherwise, the customer is only deactivated, so that receipts to which the customer had been assigned to are still correctly logged. In this case, you can also restore a customer (see below).
Restoring deleted customers
You can also restore deleted customers for whom at least one receipt has already been created. This is particularly useful in the event that you accidentally delete a customer.
Please note: Customers may only be restored by users that belong to the Administrator category of user groups.
- In the Manage customers dialogue box, select the Show deleted check box. The deleted customers are now highlighted in red.
- Hold your finger down on the customer’s name to select it.
- Then tap on the crossed-out recycle bin icon. The customer will be restored.
