Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Granting discounts on items or categories
Your task/initial situation
You would like to offer one or more items at a lower price. In JTL-POS, you have several options to do this. You can either apply a discount to each item individually or to an entire category.
Prerequisites
Granting discounts on items
- Open Items in the main menu of JTL-POS. The Manage items dialogue box will open.
- Go to the category that contains the item that you would like to discount and tap on the item to edit it.
- Under Discount, enter the discount you would like to assign to your item.
- Tap the ✓ icon to apply the settings.
Granting discounts on categories
You can also apply discounts to an entire category instead of to just individual items.
Important note: If you activate the option Combinable with other discounts in the discount settings, existing item discounts will be combined with the category discounts. For example, if your item has a 20% discount and your category has a 10% discount, a total of 28% (since the second discount applies to the reduced price) will be deducted from the price.
- Open Items in the main menu of JTL-POS. The Manage items dialogue box will open.
- If necessary, navigate to the category to which you would like to apply a discount.
- Tap the pen icon next to the category name. The Edit category dialogue box will open.
- Tap the ✓ icon to apply the settings.
