    How JTL-Wawi calculates prices

    How are prices calculated?

In the Item master data > General, enter the Gross SP in the Prices section. The Net SP is calculated automatically on the basis of this information, taking into account the specified tax class. Alternatively, you can also specify the Net SP and have the Gross SP calculated automatically. In general, the gross sales price is applied to all customer groups and sales channels.

    Calculating net sales prices

In the Item master data > General of the respective item, you can enter a Net SP directly in the Prices section. This applies if no customer, customer group, sales channel or online shop-specific sales price has been specified.

    Price hierarchy

Note: Starting from JTL-Wawi version 1.8.8.0, customer-specific prices always have priority. This means that if you specify a customer-specific price, it will always be applied, even if the final price is higher as a result. If you have not specified a customer-specific price, JTL-Wawi will determine the cheapest price for the end customer for the selected sales channel.

In JTL-Wawi, prices are generally calculated according to the following hierarchy. This hierarchy applies only to platforms that are fully integrated into JTL-Wawi, i.e. sales orders in JTL-Wawi, connected JTL-Shops as well as some online shops connected via JTL-Connector.

    • Customer-specific prices: A customer-specific price always applies to a specific customer on all platforms on which the customer can be identified. For example, if you have multiple JTL-Shops connected to JTL-Wawi, the price applies to this customer in every online shop and for sales orders that you create directly in JTL-Wawi. No additional discounts apply for customer-specific prices. You can also set individual scale prices for each customer, if required. More on the topic of how to set up Customer-specific prices.
    • Special prices: If you set up a special price, it always applies, regardless of the specified customer group prices. Only customer-specific prices still have priority. More on the topic of Setting up special prices.
    • Customer group prices per platform: You can set a price per customer group for each platform that supports customer group prices. This applies if no customer-specific price has been entered for a customer in the customer group. Discounts stored in the customer groups are calculated automatically. You can also enter scale prices per item and customer group. More on the topic of how to set up Scale prices.
    • Customer group price (standard): If you do not want to set a separate customer group price for each platform, you can store a global standard price for each customer group. To do this, go to the Item master data > General under Prices in the Global tab and enter the desired price. This customer group price is applied to all connected platforms, such as JTL-Shops, in which the customer groups exist. The requirement for this is that no customer group-specific prices have been entered for the corresponding platform.
    • Platform price: If you do not maintain customer group prices, you can specify a general item price per platform. To do this, in the Prices section, select the tab of the desired platform and enter the desired price in the column Indiv. net SP. You can adjust the prices for marketplaces, such as Amazon and eBay, when creating a listing. After a listing has been created for Amazon or eBay, you can change the price via the platform management in JTL-Wawi.
    • Gross SP/Net SP: If you do not enter any of the prices listed, JTL-Wawi uses the Gross SP or the Net SP. Any discounts, such as for customer groups or customers, are calculated automatically.

    Calculating discounts

Discounts are given on the calculated net sales price. Exceptions are customer-specific prices and special prices, to which no discount is applied. The following discount types exist:

    Customer discounts

The customer discount applies to all purchases of a particular customer via platforms that support customer discounts. In most cases, these are JTL-Wawi and connected JTL-Shops. A customer discount is stored in the customer master data of a specific customer.

    Customer group discounts

With customer group discounts, you grant a total discount on all purchases of a customer group, for example end customers or merchants. You can set the customer group discounts in the customer group details via the menu Customers > Customer groups.

    Category discounts

Category discounts can be created for each customer group and online shop. They are passed on and always apply to all items within a category. Make all necessary entries in the Category master data in the area Visibility/Discounts.

    Discount hierarchy

In JTL-Wawi, multiple discounts are not possible. If several discounts have been granted, only the highest discount applies.

    Example:

    • The gross sales price of an item is €10
    • There is a 10% global customer group discount for the customer group Merchant.
    • For the category in which the item is located, there is a discount of 30% for the customer group Merchant.

In this example, only the category discount would apply and the item price would be ignored. The Merchant customer group would therefore receive a discount of 30% and pay 7 euros.

    Average purchase price: Calculation

The average purchase price is calculated as follows:

[Bestand exkl. Lieferantenbestand] * [GLD des Artikel] + [Eingebuchter Bestand] * [EK der Bestellposition] / [Bestand exkl. Lieferantenbestand] + [Eingebuchter Bestand]

    Example:

An item has a stock of 50, of which 20 are supplier stocks. The average purchase price is €7.00.

    Value of the entire warehouse: (50 – 20) * €7.00 = €210.00

A/P invoice for registered quantity of 10 with a purchase price of 6.00€

    The value of the entire order is: 10 * €6.00 = €60.00

    The average purchase price is now calculated as follows: (€60.00 + €210.00) / ((50 – 20) + 10) = €6.75
