    Configuring JTL-Wawi

    Your task/initial situation

You have registered for the JTL-Fulfillment Network and added a warehouse advert in the Fulfillment Portal. Now you want to set up JTL-Wawi so that it works together seamlessly with the JTL-Fulfillment Network. First, you must create a new warehouse or update any existing warehouse information. The next—optional—step is to set up or adjust JTL-Worker. Finally, perform a first synchronisation with the JTL-Fulfillment Network and have a look at the log files.

    Updating warehouse data

    1. Open JTL-Wawi and click on the menu entry Lager (Warehouses) in the menu Lager (Warehouses). The dialogue box Lager anlegen/bearbeiten (Creating and editing warehouses) opens.
    2. Create a completely new fulfilment warehouse or check whether the data of your existing warehouse is complete and comprehensive. Later, this data is transferred automatically to your fulfilment customers.

If you are a fulfilment service provider just starting to use JTL-Wawi and you only have one warehouse per site, then it’s easy: Create a warehouse with a name that your sellers can easily understand, or use your existing warehouse.

Should I use the same warehouse or create a new one? If you want to act both as a seller and a fulfilment service provider and want to rent out part of your storage space to a third party, you can do that, too. From a technical point of view, the best and most efficient approach is usually to use the same warehouse for both business divisions. All processes such as the creation of pick lists and the delivery of goods can then be done quickly and without artificial hurdles. In individual cases, however, there may be legal aspects that make it necessary to separate the storage areas—for example, in order to be able to assign each warehouse its own company. Therefore, please clarify legal aspects in advance with your legal advisers. JTL can only show you the advantages and disadvantages from a technical point of view.
    1. Save the data. You are now ready to exchange warehouse data with the JTL-Fulfillment Network.

    Setting up shipping methods

You must initially specify which of your shipping methods are to be available under which name in the JTL-Fulfillment Network. Further reading on this topic: Setting up shipping methods.

    Adjusting JTL-Worker

    1. In JTL-Wawi, click on the menu item JTL-Worker in the menu Admin. The dialogue box Hintergrunddienst (Background service) opens. Adjust the settings according to the following description.

Aktivieren für diesen Mandanten (Activate for this tenant): If you want the JTL-Fulfillment Network to automatically perform a background synchronisation, enable this option and enter a synchronisation interval, for example 60 seconds.

Währungskurse aktualisieren (Update exchange rates): If your warehouse is located abroad, you should activate the exchange rate option.

Keinen Abgleich durchführen (Do not perform a synchronisation): In the delivery state of JTL-Wawi, it is not synchronised with the JTL-Fulfillment Network. However, if you would like to participate as a fulfilment service provider, please deactivate this option.

    1. Save the data.
    2. Start the JTL-Worker application from the Windows Start menu. JTL-Worker now automatically synchronises your data with the JTL-Fulfilment Network.

    Log files

    1. Open the warehouse management of JTL-Wawi by clicking on Lager (Warehouses). In the tree structure to the left, click on Logbuch (Log) under Fulfillment Network. Click on the button to open the log of the JTL-Fulfillment Network.
    1. Click Manuellen Abgleich starten (Start manual synchronisation). The log file is now being written. The list shows all actions performed by the JTL-Fulfillment Network.
Please note: Manual synchronisations can only be performed if the option Keinen Abgleich durchführen (Do not perform a synchronisation) has been activated under JTL-Fulfillment Network in JTL-Worker. If the option Keinen Abgleich durchführen (Do not perform a synchronisation) is not activated, the log is updated automatically anyway.
