Connecting several cash registers to JTL-Wawi

    Your task/initial situation

This is for those who use JTL-Wawi and have one or more branches or stores with several cash registers. For this reason, you need to connect more than one cash register to JTL-Wawi. This guide is for those that have already connected the first cash register to JTL-Wawi and want to add another.

    Requirements/Restrictions

    • Your first cash register is successfully connected to JTL-Wawi. For more information on this topic, click here:  Connecting JTL-POS to JTL-Wawi.
    • You have downloaded and installed JTL-POS on all desired devices. You have also completed the initial setup of each device. For more information on this topic, click here: Setting up JTL-POS.
    • The JTL-POS server must be running to be able to connect a cash register to JTL-Wawi. To do this, start the JTL-POS server by starting JTL-Worker via the Windows start menu. Please note that JTL-Worker and JTL-POS server can only be started on the same computer.
    • You must have created a separate number range for each cash register. This is important so that each order number is unique. We recommend using a unique prefix per cash register. For example, CR1 for your first cash register, CR2 for your second cash register, and so on and so forth. Read more on this topic here: Setting up number ranges.

    Store branches and cash registers

The connection of JTL-POS to JTL-Wawi takes place at both the branch and cash register levels. These are differentiated as follows:

    • Branch: A branch is a separate sales location with its own range of products. You control the assortment of each store or branch centrally in JTL-Wawi. A branch can have several cash registers, i.e. points of sale.
    • Cash register: A cash register is a point of sale, usually an Android-enabled device on which JTL-POS is installed. A cash register is always permanently assigned to a branch and has access to its assortment of items.

Purchasing licences for additional cash registers

You can create as many branches as you like in JTL-Wawi. You can assign an unlimited number of cash registers to each branch. The first cash register that you connect to JTL-Wawi is always free of charge, regardless of whether you have created one or 20 branches. For any additional cash registers you will need another licence, regardless of which branch they are to be used in. You can purchase more licences in the JTL-Customer Centre.

    1. Open the JTL-Customer Centre and log in with the customer account to which you have linked JTL-Wawi. For more information on this topic, click here: Licences in JTL-Wawi.
    2. Click on Produkte > Kassensystem (Products > Point of sale system).
    1. Then, click Multikassen Anbindung (via JTL-Wawi) (Connect multiple registers [via JTL-Wawi]).

Please note: You can test the multi-register module licence free of charge for 14 days. The licences can be cancelled before the end of the trial period and at the end of each month.
    1. In the field Gesamtanzahl Lizenzen (Total number of licences), enter how many registers you would like to operate in total, including all cash registers at all branches. The first cash register is always free of charge. A monthly fee is charged for each additional cash register.

    1. Click Next. The licences purchased will then be added to your customer account.

At the end of the trial period, you can purchase licences for the number of cash registers needed:
