Note: On 1 September 2024, JTL introduced new editions that bundle most of the previous individual services into different packages. In order for you to continue working as smoothly as possible, existing customers were automatically switched to the package configuration that best matched their existing contract. The individual packages differ in terms of limitations and/or range of functions. Therefore, some of the features described in the JTL-Guide may not be available to you as part of your booked JTL edition. You can change your package configuration in your JTL customer account. Find out more about the new editions and packages here. Check our FAQ for frequently asked questions about the product editions.
Creating users
Your task/initial situation
You have several employees who work with JTL-POS. To ensure proper documentation of cash transactions and to be able to assign the required rights to each user, create one user for each employee.
Creating users
- Go to Settings > User to open the Manage users dialogue box.
- Tap the plus symbol. The Create/Edit user dialogue box will open.
- In the User name field, enter the user’s name.
The user name is the name with which the employee will log in to JTL-POS. It will be stored in the internal logs of JTL-POS.
- In the User group drop down list, assign one of the user groups you have created to the user, for example, Cashier.
- Have the user enter their own password in the Password field and enter it again in the Repeat password field.
Alternative: If your users can log in to the cash register using a security key, a key card, key chip, or the like, set up the key ID. Tap on the Read key button and follow the instructions in the Key ID dialogue box. Once the device is successfully set up, you can then use the card/chip to log in. For each cash register, you need a separate device.
- Optional: Enter the employee’s contact information.
- Once you have entered all the required data, tap Save.
